Founded by David C. White in 1955 as a property/casualty wholesale operation, D.C. White Agency began to develop a strong niche within the commercial auto insurance arena, and ultimately sold its non-auto business in 1995 to become a specialty auto market. The following year, the agency was acquired by the Lancer Insurance Group, a New York-based company with a strong underwriting focus in commercial automobile insurance. In January 1997, Lancer Insurance Company, a member of the Lancer Group, became D.C. White's policy-issuing insurer.
Specifically, D.C. White Agency provides commercial auto liability and physical damage insurance coverages for local and intermediate trucks, delivery vans, tow trucks, dump trucks, contractors' vehicles, household movers and most other classes of commercial auto. It also provides a wide range of garage coverages for used car dealers, collision shops, service stations, auto storage yards and repair shops.

markets come and go, D.C. White Agency continues to successfully meet
the needs of its producers and their clients by keeping it simple—providing
